Filmpot is a digital distributor company based in Seattle. Founders of Filmpot dreamt of creating a one stop digital shop for Turkish films. Since then, we established ourselves as the leader in online distribution of acclaimed and award-winning Turkish movies. At Filmpot we have two goals, as Managing Partner İlker Cengiz puts it, ‘to help hidden gems of cinema reach their audience and provide filmmakers with a digital distribution hub generating constant revenue stream for them’.

We started bringing Turkish films to online video on demand services in 2010. We have teamed up with MUBI and Amazon. And we realize this is only the beginning in a fun ride and there is so much to do to reach our goals.

Our catalog includes movies with awards and recognition in prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Tribeca, Locarno, Rotterdam and Istanbul. We carry titles by legends of Turkish cinema as Yilmaz Guney and Zeki Demirkubuz, seasoned directors as Serdar Akar, Semih Kaplanoglu and Aydin Sayman as well as up-and-coming directors as Huseyin Karabey, Mahmut Fazil Coskun and Inan Temelkuran.

One of our special collections is Films of Zeki Demirkubuz. Mr Demirkubuz is the legendary independent filmmaker from Turkey who is described as “one of the utterly unclassifiable talents Turkish cinema has quietly produced to surprise, delight and challenge the world.”  by Fiachra Gibbons of Guardian in 2006. Mr Demirkubuz is one of a select club of directors to have had two films competing at Cannes at the same time [Fate (2001) and Confession (2002)].

We believe having our movies will be a great addition to digital outlets benefiting members who enjoy art-house and foreign movies as well as Turkish speakers, a community of several millions in North America and Europe.
